Hey Slater Squad πŸ‘‹
For Slater Roundup 28, we have:

  • Slater New Experience Update
  • Community Highlights
  • Spotlight Session Call Outs

Alright - let's go!

Slater New Experience

Thanks so much to the paid members that came to yesterday's talk πŸ™Œ

We will gradually roll this out to users in coming days (just needs some polishing before you get your hands on it!).

As we've said, the New Experience will be rolled out to paid users first before the Playground plan users - we want to reward those who are supporting Slater through it's early stages.

Thank you for all the feedback so far.

What does the New Experience include though?

1) Improve user experience

  • Views: improved views for specific functionality.
  • Files: easy access to all of your Javascript and CSS files.
  • Tabs: work on your files across multiple tabs.
  • Saved states: your editor retains views, tabs, settings and more when you come back to it.

2) Improved Single Script

  • API driven: Slater gets pages from the API rather than the sitemap so you don’t run into Webflow free tier issues
  • Pages: you have more control over pages run specific Slater files.
  • Folders: write javascript to pages in folders.

3) Dashboard

  • Easily search through your projects
  • Know which team members created projects
  • Know which projects you have transferred
  • Know which projects are transferred
  • Earn points for project transferrals on the slater advocates scheme

4) Snapshots

  • Your code is automatically saved for later retrieval

4) Editor settings

  • Configure tab length, font size, colors and more

5) Improved javascript files

  • You Javascript file loads faster
  • Javascript errors remain local to the file

There is plenty more coming including the community library, the advocates program and more but super excited to have so many changes inbound for you all imminently.

This weekend, Slater experienced an outage. While we make every effort to ensure Slater's uninterrupted operation, occasional server issues may arise. But! The key takeaway from this weekend's incident is that the production scripts on your clients' websites remain unaffected even if a Slater outage occurs. Slater scripts are exceptionally resilient and you can trust Slater to provide Javascript functionality on your client websites. Our in-house Javascript and Surf guru, Witt, re-recorded a...

Before Slater, we at Edgar Allan used Codesandbox. It's a incredible tool. Full stop. We invested in building Slater because the Codesandbox solution was a hack and we didn't feel comfortable shipping our clients' websites with a Codesandbox script. This week Codesandbox updated their pricing and broke a lot of Webflow projects. :( If this is you, crack open Slater again. If this is someone you know, forward this email to them. Product Updates We're adding polish to the new UI--a lot of small...
